Course Description
This four-week course will introduce students to the fundamentals of digital photography using a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Students will learn the essential image-making techniques, including camera functions, exposure control, general lighting, white balance, composition, editing, and concept development. Through hands-on guided practice, students will develop technical skills while exploring creative approaches to photography. Each week will focus on a different aspect of image-making, helping students build technical proficiency and visual literacy. By the end of the course, students will be able to create well-exposed, thoughtfully composed photographs and critically evaluate their own work and the work of their peers. Most importantly, students will learn how to make photographs and enjoy doing it. Necessary Materials - - - - DSLR or Mirrorless camera A computer with access to the internet outside of class An external thumb drive or hard drive Access to Adobe Photoshop or a free trial (suggested)

Description:
Discover the art of bringing wood to life in our Woodcarving Relief Course for Teens & tweens. This hands-on program introduces artists to the rewarding world of three-dimensional wood sculpture. Students will learn to transform flat pieces of wood into detailed, textured imagery using traditional hand tools, power dremels and wood burning tools. Wood finishes can be accomplished in stains, watercolors, and acrylic paints.

Description:
Unit 2 offers students an opportunity to create amazing paintings in both, or either, digital or traditional paints. We will cover animal portraits, natural landscapes and people in paint with a focus on developing greater skills to capture subject matter with proper values and textures. All traditional canvases and paints are provided by the studio. If you choose to work digitially you must provide your own iPad device with Procreate downloaded.

Students will select a media to focus on each month including oil paint, digital painting, acrylic & watercolor painting, Prismacolor colored pencil & graphite drawing, and sculpture. Specific curriculum is student driven in a cooperative format with the instructor. Individual themes and media improvement plans are in place for artists to elevate their current skills and product.

Imagine, Create, and Play allows children to explore their creativity and express themselves through various artistic media. This class provides a supportive and encouraging environment where young artists learn different techniques and styles of art, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media. We will focus on the process and fun of creating art, and students will be free to learn hands-on! We will paint, print, sculpt, collage, and more! Each session introduces new media and ideas, so artists are encouraged to continue if they participated in a prior session! Imagine, Create, and Play fosters a love for art, cultivates the students' artistic skills, and encourages them to explore their creativity in a fun and educational setting.
